The Validation Game Discussion - 1.5

Here's how The Validation Game works:

When two humans, or two sides, are engaged in a disagreement, one side or the other can offer to host a session of the Validation Game to act as the framework of their debate.

  1. The host invites the guest to the game.
    ‍ ‍

  2. The topic of the game session is stated as specifically as possible.
    ‍ ‍

  3. The host prompts the guest to state one specific desire, belief, or fear that they have about the topic.
    ‍ ‍

  4. The host then states whether they agree or disagree.
    ‍ ‍

  5. The host is then able to ask a number of questions about the guest's stance to develop their strategy for how they want to VALIDATE the guest's thought process (not necessarily the end-result, itself).
    ‍ ‍

  6. The host then makes their validation: They use as much or as little detail as possible as they want to make their validation of the reasoning so respectful that their opponent will award them the appropriate points in the next step.
    ‍ ‍

  7. Once the host has issued their validation, the guest will decide if they should be awarded their Validation Points for that round.
    ‍ ‍
Validating a statement that was agreed with wins 1 point.
    ‍ ‍
Validating a statement that was NOT agreed with wins 3 points.
    ‍ ‍

  8. The players then repeat steps 3 - 7 with the roles reversed this time.
    ‍ ‍

  9. Then they switch back.
    ‍ ‍

  10. The host and guest should each play the part of the Validator an equal number of times.
    ‍ ‍

  11. The game ends when one player, the other player, or both players decide it’s over.
    ‍ ‍

  12. There are also Communal Points that both sides get at the end of each game. They earn these points for every detail that they can both agree on.
